Anda BiezaContemporary Artist and Art Doll Creator

A contemporary studio practice devoted to one-of-a-kind art dolls.

Artist's Note

My name is Anda Bieza, a contemporary artist from Latvia and the creator behind two interconnected artistic practices: BIEZAART, focused on painting, and ANDA DOLLS, devoted to one-of-a-kind sculptural art dolls

Art has been part of my life for many years. I paint, create one-of-a-kind art dolls, and constantly explore new ways to transform emotions into something tangible and lasting.

Every doll begins with a feeling rather than a sketch. I never rush the process. A piece evolves slowly until, at some point, it feels as though it has developed its own character and its own story. That is why I never create identical dolls. Every artwork exists as a single original.

It is important to me that my work does more than simply catch the eye. I hope it creates a feeling. I believe every collector forms a unique connection with the artwork they choose, and that its story continues long after it leaves my studio.

My work has found homes in private collections around the world and has been exhibited at international exhibitions.

Thank you for visiting my world.

Artist statement

I do not create objects.

I create emotions, memories, and stories that live beyond me.

Every art doll is one of a kind—crafted slowly, by hand, and from the heart.

I believe true art does not simply catch the eye; it stays with you.

My Story

As a child, I never imagined that the little cats, birds, and imaginary creatures I sculpted with my father—and often on my own—would one day lead me to creating one-of-a-kind art dolls: storytelling sculptures, each with its own character, emotions, and unique story.

Art has always been my way of expressing what words cannot. Painting, ceramics, jewellery making, and teaching creative workshops have all been part of the journey that eventually led me to art dolls.

I have been working professionally as an artist since 2012. Over the years, my paintings and ceramic works have found homes in private collections in more than 20 countries around the world.

Everything I have learned throughout my artistic journey has come together in my art dolls. They combine painting, ceramics, craftsmanship, patience, imagination, and my lifelong love of storytelling.

I have been creating one-of-a-kind art dolls for the past four years. Every piece is a true original, carefully handcrafted and allowed to develop its own personality as it comes to life. Today, my dolls are part of private collections in Latvia, Estonia, Canada, and Sweden.

I continue to learn, refine my skills, and explore new creative possibilities. My mind is always full of new ideas, and I believe every new artwork has another story waiting to be told.
