Lumpaks has spent his entire life alone in the marsh. Whenever travellers wandered too close, he frightened them away—not out of malice, but to keep them from sinking into the dangerous bog. As spring arrived, however, even the Marsh Baron grew tired of his solitude. He dressed in his finest clothes, adorned himself with treasured jewellery, placed an elegant earring on his ear, and set off for the Spring Ball in the Enchanted Forest, hoping to meet the lady who might finally steal his heart. His distinctive ears are made from genuine seashells, specially brought from South Africa for this artwork, adding another unique chapter to his story.
