Mr Rabbit at the Theatre Collectible Art Doll | Anda Dolls

Mr Rabbit at the Theatre is an expressive and slightly eccentric character from my early series of art doll works. His top hat, elaborate black costume, oversized rabbit ears and vivid green eyes give him the unmistakable character of a theatrical gentleman. The miniature setting adds another layer to the piece – a tea table with a fabric cloth, tea set and a small piece of cake. Every element of this composition was conceived and created by me as part of the character's story. Theatre begins long before the curtain rises. Mr Rabbit knows this well. He has arrived early, taken his place beside his little tea table and settled in for the evening's performance. His top hat is perfectly in place, the tea is ready and the cake is waiting. Everything is exactly as it should be for a proper gentleman of the theatre. Yet there is something mysterious in his expression. Perhaps he is not merely a spectator. Perhaps tonight he has a role of his own to play? Mr Rabbit keeps his secret to himself. He simply smiles and waits.
